Motorola i897 Ferrari Special Edition

The first rumors about the presence of the clamshell Motorola Ferrari appeared in May of this year. A few days ago was its final formal presentation. The novelty is called Motorola i897 Ferrari Special Edition.

European fans of this popular brand will not be disappointed – the phone i897 is designed to work in iDEN networks and is focused exclusively for the Latin American countries.

The features of Motorola i897 by the modern standards are quite modest: two screens (2.2” with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 1.8” with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels), 2 megapixel camera, media player, Bluetooth, support for the microSD cards . The gadget comes with a pre-loaded Ferrari topic content: pictures, themes, wallpapers, videos, ringtones and Ferrari GT games, e.g. Evolution game.

Motorola i897 Ferrari Special Edition will be available in two colors while signing a contract with Nextel Mexico and Nextel Brazil in Mexico and Brazil. In October, the device will be released in the Argentine network- Nextel Argentina.

Motorola Defy- Protected Android Device

Motorola has officially introduced a new smartphone named Motorola Defy.

The smartphone is according to the IP67 standard. The gadget is being protected from dust and moisture and plus Gorilla Glass protects the display of the device from scratches. Motorola Defy may spend half an hour without any consequences in the water to a depth of 1 meter.

Interestingly, all these bonuses do not go to the cut off the functionality of the smartphone. It works on the basis of Android 2.1, and is equipped with a 3.7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 5MP camera with autofocus and LED-flash, OMAP 3610 processor with 800 MHz, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1,25 GB of internal memory and a slot for MicroSD (up to 32 GB).

The measures of the device are 59 x 107 x 13,4 mm, weight – 118 g.

Motorola Defy is equipped with battery capacity of 1540 mAh. It will last for 400 hours in standby mode.

In the European market Motorola Defy will appear in the fourth quarter. Its price is still unknown.

Motorola Milestone 2 Promo Video

We already have an official promo video of the smartphone Motorola Milestone 2. This is a European analogue model of Motorola Droid 2, which was presented last month. In fact, it is the same device in terms of design and performance, but for some other cellular networks – GSM / UMTS. Motorola Milestone 2 works under the operating system Android 2.2 and Motoblur interface and a slider with a 3.7-inch touch screen and sliding QWERTY-keyboard.

In addition, the device is built on the 1-GHz processor, equipped with 512MB of memory RAM, 5 megapixel camera and 8 GB of internal memory, which can be supplemented by microSD. Obviously, the Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, Wi-Fi and GPS, as well as other possibilities of Motorola Droid 2 present on Milestone 2 is also available. However, if the smartphone for the U.S. market went on sale in the middle of last month, then the release of its European version is unknown yet. However, we can assume that the announcement and start of sales are coming soon.

Motorola Milestone 2 Officially Introduced

Motorola has officially introduced MILESTONE 2 smartphone on the basis of the Android 2.2 operating system to the European market. It is equipped with a proprietary MOTOBLUR interface. As mentioned by the manufacturer they offer the new owners, in comparison with the original MILESTONE, higher speed, more memory, as well as more opportunities for communication, messaging, multimedia and Web surfing through the use of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 technology.

Motorola MILESTONE 2 is made in the side-slider form factor with a pull-out full-size QWERTY-keyboard, supports HD-video recording (720p) has 8 GB of internal memory and 8 GB memory card in the kit. Home delivery is scheduled by the manufacturer at the 4 th quarter of 2010.

3 Ming Series Motorola Gadgets For Chinese Market

Motorola has officially introduced immediately three new smartphones based on Android operating system for the Chinese market, which will join the ranks of the product line – Ming. The line is filled up with models such as the MT810 for TD-SCDMA China Mobile, XT806 for CDMA-2000 network of China Telecom, and A1680 for WCDMA network China Unicom. All these models have a touch screen, flip cover, in a bundled stylus.

Motorola XT300- New Android-based QWERTY

The global network of leaked photos and video of the smartphones is ready to surprise us with a new device from Motorola based on Android OS. The device is called Motorola XT300, which is a slider with a touchscreen and sliding QWERTY-keyboard. Only it  is not on the side, and vertical as in Palm Pre. Supposedly, this smartphone can be presented in two versions – for CDMA networks and GSM. Most likely, CDMA-model will be released in the U.S. at Verizon and will be part of a Droid ruler, and the GSM-version will go on sale in the European market.

The details about the specs of Motorola XT300  are only a few. It is likely that its built-in camera will be 3.2 MP. Display of the smartphone is small enough and most likely, the device will apply to take a spot in the mid-range gadget list. This means that it will differ with a quite low cost. So far no reports on the timing of release of the Android-smartphone Motorola XT300 are but most likely it will start selling soon. Motorola has not yet formally announced about this new solution.

Motorola Droid Getting Android 2.2 Update

According to Android Community, Motorola and the U.S. carrier Verizon began upgrades of Droid smartphones to the latest version of Android OS. According to those who managed to test the new firmware ,the smartphone has become more stable and faster. It is still unknown as to whether the Android 2.2 allows Droid to use their mobile hotspot for other devices.

Probably not far off is the release of Android 2.2 for the European version of Motorola Droid – Milestone. At least, previously it was reported that the update will be available in late August or in September.

Previously, Verizon had warned the owners of Motorola Droid that they should not expect to use their smartphone as a wireless access point. While this feature is present in Android 2.2, Droid supposedly has the hardware limitation of its implementation.

Motorola Droid 2 Special Edition

We got some info that Motorola Droid 2 will have a special edition. This device is expected to produce some other image version, which will give the phone similarity with the character of the cult film “Star Wars”. On Twitter an image demonstrating the back cover of Motorola Droid 2, which is painted white with a drawing of the figure, making it similar to astrodroidom R2-D2.

Previously Verizon Wireless has deployed a teaser page for the model R2-D2 Droid, although it did not demonstrate any photo or video device, but invited to inquire about the possibilities of the standard Droid 2 and follow the news by e-mail or twitter. Smartphone Droid 2 has a processor with 1 GHz, is a QWERTY-slider with a 3.7-inch touch screen.

Supplies of exclusive and limited edition for R2-D2 Droid should begin in September, but its value has not yet named. Standard Motorola Droid 2 is sold in the U.S. via Verizon Wireless for $ 200 at the conclusion of 2-year contract.

The novelty from Motorola is a continuation of a series of Motorola Ming and indexed as A1680.
