When Motorola expanded the list of its devices to get ICS, the Droid 4 was there but the manufacturer didn’t mention any timing for it. This fact didn’t annoy people because those who were wishing to get ICS as soon as possible were sure there would be many custom ROMs just because the Droid 4 was rooted on the next day of its official launch.

This ROM seems to be the first ICS test build for the phone, and though it can harm your phone if you manage to install it on your Droid 4, we can be sure Motorola is working hard on the update. However, if you dare and install the ROM, you must note there is a chance the official Android 4.0 ICS update might not be compatible with this version.

The newly announced handset is called the Motorola Motosmart MIX XT550. This device is designed especially for people who really care about music. Of course, this is great news. Turns out there are only two devices in face of the iPhone 4S and the BlackBerry Bold 9930 that are sold at more than $199.99. But on the other hand, there is no sense in keeping the original Droid RAZR’s price at $199 because no one will buy it when another smartphone with better specs costs equal. Though the blue option of the Motorola Droid RAZR is available in select Verizon stores, its official launch date is a bit later. The price is the same as Big Red required for the original Droid RAZR, $99.99 after a $50 instant discount, and Verizon’s still selling it with double data, thus a 4GB monthly plan will cost you $30.

The Cliq 2 was launched in the US almost a year ago with Android 2.2 Froyo on board. But the current smartphone market is too rough, and mid-range handsets like our hero can’t be competitive if they don’t run good software. Though the Cliq 2 doesn’t have such plans and it’s nothing more than a form of care towards the users, the phone deserves to run better software.

It’s not an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update (and Moto never promised to upgrade this phone to that version) but no one can speak against having a more stable device than the one the currently have. Motorola has announced the phone will be available in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. No pricing and exact launch date are announced but the company says the launch won’t be late. In all likelihood, Scandinavians will get their hands on the Motorola RAZR MAXX sometime this month.

You will also have a new CDMA radio, although there will be no change in LTE.

Here are the most important points of this 18MB update (6.13.219). One of the main improvements listed in the changelog is the battery life and the touch and blank screen lockups. I can bet these were the two getting on your nerves the most. The rest of the changelog includes fixed Power On function, keypad backlight launch, a new MotoCast widget and so on. The phone features stainless steel and Kevlar body with 8.99mm thickness.

The price is not revealed yet but those who dream of having the Motorola RAZR MAXX can pre-order it right now at Motorola.

PocketNow claims the phone will be called the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE. This is the case when we must rely on our experience and telepathic skills to “see” what features the handset will come with as nothing is mentioned about its specs list.

The name suggests the device will support Sprint’s 4G LTE network, which is a necessary feature since Verizon and AT&T are enlarging their 4G coverage. If Sprint wants to remain in the game, it must do the same. Moreover, “Q” might imply the sequel of the Motorola Photon 4G will be packed with a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset though the company was recently testing some S4 chipsets. We don’t have any other explanation, so now we choose to adhere to this idea.

Lastly, we hope Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a kickstand will also be there.
