The Motorola Atrix 2 is one of those handsets, which suffered from Carrier IQ tracking app, but the manufacturer decided to push out an OTA update to remove it and improve the overall performance.

This is a major software update, which will bring the handset’s system to a version 55.13.25. Other than that, you will have an updated Mobile Hotspot application offering better connection to devices. As for special apps, AT&T messages app is improved and offers easier methods to access texts stored in your cloud. Plus the update will rename several apps without any changes inside the app — the names have been shortened for easy access into the app tray.

The update is OTA, which means you will be informed about it via a notification. If you haven’t been notified, navigate through Settings > About Phone > and tap System Updates.

Most of the Motorola Droid 4 specs were leaked at CES 2012 event. The device was expected to get launched back in December for Christmas time, but it didn’t, and as a result the interest towards it decreased.

The late launch is explained by the presence of pretty cool Android handsets available from Verizon, including the Droid RAZR, the HTC Rezound and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. So while their shine is presently somewhat diminishing, it’s high time to present the latest member of the Droid family. There are rumors the device will be launched on February 9. Consequently, the device can turn into a last minute Valentine gift.

The price will be $199.99 with a two-year contract. This is the price Verizon offers for its high-end smartphones coming with LTE connectivity support.

Among the rest of the features we have a 4-inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz single-core processor, an 8 megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but we expect it to be updated to Android 4.0 ICS sometime soon.

I guess the most people’s handsets are those that wear HTC branding, but Motorola doesn’t want to stay behind and at the end of last year announced it would provide unlocked bootloaders for its handsets. The times came and passed, but we didn’t see any tool launched for this deal. However, now what I am going to say is something that shows Motorola always keeps its promises—the phone vendor is currently offering the “Developer Edition” of its RAZR Android smartphone.

As you realize, the Motorola Droid RAZR with unlocked bootloader is packed with the same features we used to see on the original model, but the company doesn’t offer any warranty agreement. Well, earlier the manufacturer said it is going to launch smartphones with unlocked bootloader especially for developers to allow them to install custom ROMs of different Android versions and to try different customizing tools. Now when the Developer Edition of the Motorola Droid RAZR is available, we can hope the same will happen with other high-end smartphones of the handset maker.

As for pricing, the phone is available at Motorola’s online shop for 499EUR (US$659). So if you like to play with the “internal organs” of a smartphone, then this is the best offer for you.

When launching the Motorola Defy Mini (XT320) officials mentioned only about the opportunity of getting it to Europe, China and Latin America. Because of low price and not that attractive features the device was not expected to get a Northern American launch. However, the handset has just passed FCC, which gives it a chance to get launched either in Canada or in the US. The Defy Mini comes with WCDMA 850 and 1900 connectivity possibilities, which makes it a great nominee for AT&T release and most major Canadian carriers. The handset was launched in the beginning of this month and is included in the manufacturer’s dust and water resistant series. The Defy Mini comes equipped with a 3.2-inch display with a resolution of 480×320 and Gorilla Glass protection, Android 3.2 Gingerbread, a 3 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, a 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and a support for up to 32 GB microSD card. The first country to host the device will be the UK. Here the device is expected to get launched either in February or March with a price tag of around $225.

Motorola’s two new tablets, the Xyboard 8.2 and 10.1 with their 16 and 32GB versions are now available for purchase. The prices are not that low, but they are set in such order to be quite competitive. So you can easily say these handsets can be iPad 2 killers (but it refers only to the iPad 2, as the iPad 3 is promised to be something shocking).

The Xyboard series tablets are also known as Xoom 2, thus we are dealing with the successors of the well-known Motorola Xoom. But these devices now are more popular and offered in more variants. So you can find a Xyboard tablet appropriating to your taste, undoubtedly.

Well, consumers can get the Xyboard 8.2 16GB model for $400 while the 32GB version will be yours for $500. Add $100 to each offer and you’ll be given a chance to own the 10.1-inch models. Plus, the ordered model will reach to you in two days shipped for free.

As for the quick rundown, the Motorola Xyboard tablets are packed with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 5MP rear camera, a 1.3MP frontal camera, 1GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB of internal storage, 10.1 or 8.2-inch HD-IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 800×1280 pixels, and run Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but will get Ice Cream Sandwich once it is available for the rest of Motorola devices.

The leaked MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) list of Verizon gives us an interesting info concerning the pricing of the upcoming carrier handsets. The prices are quite lower than we were expecting them to be. The Motorola Droid 4according to the list will be available for $199.99 with a two-year contract, which is $50 less than the price announced during the launch of the smartphone.

This is the exact same price that was asked last year for the Droid 3, while the latest version of the Droid lineup looks way more attractive and finally supports LTE connectivity.

As for the Droid Bionic, the list has the price tag of $149.99, which is almost half less as the original price asked for the smartphone. The price cut also touched the 32GB option of the Droid RAZR , which can now be purchased for $279.99 within a two-year contract for both black and white versions.

Anyway the leaked price list only demonstrates the minumum prices that can be asked for the handset by the carrier, which means that Verizon can always ask a higher price. Still, MAP list has always been a reliable source so far for making predictions about the pricing of the Verizon handsets.

The trend of the offering white options for the released devices was first adopted by Apple, becoming a basic habit starting with the iPhone 3GS. Afterwards the trend was also rather popular among Samsung devices. As we see now Motorola also has plans to offer its version of a white device.

The White Motorola Droid RAZR will be the first Moto device in white identically repeating all of the features of the original black option. If Verizon stores are already offering the white option over a month, then the U.K. customers are still waiting for their turn. Apparently the main hope of getting the device soon is based upon the idea that Clove UK is finally accepting pre-orders for the white Droid RAZR though without a shipment date.

If you’re not in favor with the Clove UK there are a few more options of getting this winter-themed color device, including SoMobile of the Unlocked-Mobiles. The retailer ask 425 GBP (around $655) for the unlocked version of the phone. Unlocked-Mobile promises to get your unit of the Droid RAZR on February 22.

The Droid RAZR comes with a 4.3-inch SUPER AMOLED capacitive display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel rear camera, 16GB onboard memory and 1GB of RAM.

The sequel of the thinnest Android high-end smartphone is now available for purchase. Yesterday Verizon launched the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX at a price tag of $299.99. This means all the rumors are confirmed and now this awesome smartphone with an extended battery can be yours if you sign a two-year contract with Big Red.

On the whole, the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX is packed with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 540×960 pixels, thus we are dealing with a handset which has a perfect display with a pixel density of 256ppi. Plus, it is made by using Gorilla Glass technology meaning you have no reason to worry about scratching and your handset always will look as a new one.

As for the other specs, the phone comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, which is not that good, because the lack of dual-LED flash doesn’t allow users to take high quality pictures in dark conditions. However, there is also a 1.3MP camera for web chat, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and of course, a 3300mAh battery providing up to 21 hours of talk time and 368 hours in standby mode.

I’ve been digging in phone’s specifications and couldn’t find whether it is launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as it was rumored, or it still runs Android 2.3.5. So if you have any information, please let us know.

In any case, the designers have managed to fit such a powerful battery in 8.99mm frame, thus the Droid RAZR MAXX still remains one of the thinnest handsets in the world, and paying $299.99 for it mustn’t be a problem, must it?

Motorola has been fighting against Apple for a long time and sometimes it seems this battle will never end. Both companies can’t calm down and sue each other again and again. At these days Motorola filed the second lawsuit against the Cupertino-based company claiming the latter has infringed a number of its patents.

As Motorola claims there are at least 6 patents that Apple has violated with its various products and services. Moreover, the violation continues nowadays and they refer to such products as the iPhone 4S and iClouds are. But they are not the only violations Motorola is suffering because of, as Apple is illegally using its services related to wireless antenna and communications technologies, which Motorola was granted for back in 1998.

In its complaint the handset vendor says , “Apple’s infringing activities have caused and will continue to cause Motorola Mobility irreparable harm, for which it has no adequate remedy at law, unless Apple’s infringing activities are enjoined by this Court in accordance with 35 U.S.C. 283 [(an injunction against the products)].”

We can’t say what will happen, but we already know what Apple is ready for and how much it can spend to reach its goals. Anyway, Apple won the latest lawsuit when it was accusing Motorola in using its three patents, so may be this complaint was filed in vain?

The latest leaked ROM states that the first Motorola device to receive an Android 4.0 ICS update is going to be the Droid RAZR. The shots demonstrate the latest customizations of the user interface to provide a full coverage of the newest version of the OS. The basic changes are visible on the camera and lock screen apps.

In contrast the changes connected with the home screen is the change of the MOTOBLUR icons. This is not the final version of the Android 4.0 and thus we do not see the Motorola’s launcher application coming with the handset. Still as it was promised the device is getting rid of the Motoblur UI.

The Droid RAZR is listed in the Motorola’s official website as Android 4.0 ICS upgradeable and as we remember the manufacturer also included the device in the list of its future updates.

At the moment the leak is designed only for the GSM International version of the Droid RAZR, thus it’s impossible to get it on the Verizon’s option of the smartphone. It is a little disappointing, but we hope to get another ROM for this exact option sometime soon, in case Motorola doesn’t come up with an official release of the OS beforehand.
