Motorola Atrix 4G Android 2.3.4 Update Ready!

| July 25, 2011 | 1 Comment

After a long process of testing, Motorola finally decided to push out Android 2.3 for the wonderful Motorola Atrix 4G. The device was initially coming with Android 2.2 offered by AT&T. Now the Android 2.3.4 update will solve many issues that have long been bothering the Motorola Atrix 4G users.

One of the features coming with the update is the sideloading of apps. The list of the enhancements includes updated picture gallery and music player, new and refreshed user interface coming with simpler homescreen design and HD video playback in 1080 p.

The update is going to require around 200MB of free space on your microSD and a fully charged phone. The manufacturer’s advice is to get the update only on those devices that haven’t seen any kind of customized updates. This means that if you are not among these users, you better bring your smartphone to its initial condition before installing the update.

I also have to mention that the update takes quite long (around 25 minutes).

By the way, the manufacturer promised to talk about the testing results and details before the release of the update, but they never did…
