Motorola Droid Bionic docks hands-on videos

The Motorola Atrix was the first smartphone offering lapdock functionality that was beloved by geeks immediately. Then Motorola announced they will produce more handsets with such functionality and now when the Motorola Droid Bionic is finally launched, we can say the company kept its promise, moreover, it added several other docks to the collection. Here I want to introduce you the most popular of them that are going to help the phone to defend the title of the world’s most powerful smartphone.

Laptop dock

The lapdock is the most expensive accessory for the Motorola Droid Bionic, and it provides similar experience we have seen in the Atrix. Coming at a price tag of $299.99 it provides the most opportunities among all the accessories and easily turns the smartphone into a notebook. It is pricey, but if you get it with the purchase of an on-contract Motorola DROID BIONIC, it will cost less and you’ll get a $100 mail-in-rebate as part of a package deal.

This is the same dock we have seen for the Atrix with just one exception that the dock connector is designed especially for the Droid Bionic. It comes with an 11.6” display, keyboard, soft touch coating, trackpad, two full sized USB ports and speakers. Of course, that’s not a piece of art, but it has all required features.

The highlight of this accessory is Motorola’s unique Webtop experience, i.e. you can enjoy using full Mozilla Firefox browser.

HD station

If you think the lapdock is expensive, but you still don’t want to miss the Motorola’S Webtop experience, then here is another awesome accessory– the optional HD Station dock. It is priced of $99.99 but it doesn’t mean the HD Station is not able to provide you high-class experience.

The dock makes it easy to turn the Droid Bionic into a mini-computer and use it in similar terms. It has three USB ports allowing you to connect USB peripherals like a mouse, a keyboard or a flash drive. Moreover, the phone is being charged while it is connected and you even can connect it to a TV using a microHDMI port.

This dock is able to take you in a Web. Once you have selected the Webtop option on the handset, it transforms into a huge trackpad and you can easily navigate in the internet. There are also two clicks to help better select something. Plus, it is easier to input text using the on-screen keyboard available on the handset as well.

Standard dock

The Standard dock for the Motorola Droid Bionic is available for $49.99 which looks like the HD Station, but offers less functionality. Generally, it is a stylish charger which also positions the phone at a slight angle. While it is sitting in the cradle you can connect a speaker to it via an audio-out port turning it into a mini multimedia center.

Besides charging and holding the phone, the Standard dock features Smart Mode which transforms your phone into an alarm clock or productivity assistant.

Vehicle navigation dock

I guess you travel a lot, because the Motorola Droid Bionic is a high-end smartphone with the best features and $299.99 price tag is not accessible for everyone, so you must have high incomes. Anyway, if even it is not so, but you have got this phone and don’t want to be distracted by anything then the Vehicle Navigation Dock is a good solution. It doesn’t mean this accessory will increase or enhance the smartphone’s GPS signal strength, but using it you can be sure your smartphone is held safely. Plus, you can rotate it to the angle that is most optimal for you.

Once you put the Droid Bionic into the dock, it automatically launches the dedicated navigation interface powered by Google Maps Navigation. Its finger-friendly icons will help you to peruse the interface conveniently and you can access contacts list, phone dialer, and music player as well.

The Vehicle Navigation dock is available for $39.99 which is a good price taking into account what discomfort you can feel while driving.

Webtop adapter

If you haven’t planned to pay high prices for using webtop experience, than here is the best solution for it– the snap-on Webtop Adapter for the Motorola Droid Bionic. It is sold for only $29.99 and it is the simplest solution offering Webtop’s functionality.

The accessory is attached to the phone via USB and microHDMI ports, but they are enough to keep the adapter very tight with no evidence of any wiggle in between. It is one of the best solutions to get Motorola’s Webtop experience to run on the big screen, and if you are pleasant by using this accessory, most likely you won’t understand why people pay more for Lapdock or HD Station. I support you.
