Motorola updates MotoBLUR and desktop sync software

Yesterday at MWC 2011 Motorola announced it will offer a new updated version of MotoBLUR which will bring new social and media features to Android smartphones supporting UI. One of the additions is a Connected Music feature allowing users to buy and share music-related content easier.  The Connected Music feature also offers a discovery tool for more functionality.

From other additions I have also to mention Connected Gallery which allows users to share videos and picture between users and social networking sites including Facebook, Flickr, Picasa.

Finally, Motorola decided to add Aloqa mobile push location support which will help users to identify them on-the-go for check-ins, recommendations and special deals.

Now MotoBlur offers users a new ability to find and track lost devices or erase the data remotely. The updated MotoBLUR will be available for Motorola’s new smartphones like the Atrix 4G and Cliq 2 and will be built in upcoming devices.

This is not the only update for Motorola’s software, as it also announced updates for its desktop based software, Media Link. This feature links devices to iTunes for easy transfer of media content. ZumoCast tool is added to MotoConnect suite. And the upgraded version will be available in Q3. I guess at that time there would be many devices allowing users to have their own private “clouds” for storing and accessing mobile content while on the go.

These software updates are much expected too, and make happy many geeks, though simple users have been waiting for new Motorola smartphones.
