Motorola Xoom Getting SD Support

| May 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Motorola Xoom is available in Canada for some time already. It’s also updated from Android 3.0 to Android 3.1. The newest version of the OS has a list of great enhancements, and it even includes microSD card support. The fact that this feature was missing so far on the tablet is strange, but still a reality.

Motorola Canada posted the following clarification about the update:

The Motorola XOOM upgrade for Canada is coming soon! Some of the feature upgrades include basic external SD card support for general SD file and media access, expanded support for USB-connected accessories, additional Bluetooth support and Picture Transfer Protocol to enable easier transfer of photo files to your PC.

The update is not available yet. Motorola Canada mentions that the feature will be available for the Canadian customers, still we do not have any information about the rest of the locations. Hopefully the update will be applicable for the entire lineup of the devices.

The Motorola Xoom has been forgotten for a while by the Canadian, and the main emphasize was recently made only upon the Motorola Atrix 4G and its enhancements. This means that it took quite a while to concentrate on the tablet enhancements, hopefully the results will be impressive.
